Day 2 - South Molton (North Devon) to Bristol

Both Dave & I woke feeling good about the day - until we heard the weather forcast - wet and windy. Started out at 9am and used the B roads the traverse across Devon into Somerset. Rode for 15miles along beautiful country roads with stunning scenery. Saw just 4 cars and one tractor in the first 1.5 hours - wonderful!

Tauton for lunch at the 35 mile mark, then onto Bristol up the A38. Great day, rain stayed away and the wind was mostly westward, giving us a helping hand in places. From lunch the grey skys had cleared and the sun shone all the way in to our hosts John & Julie in Parkway, Bristol.

Had a bit of trouble navigating through Bristol city centre when the sign posts for the A38 disappeared - but at least we did a bit of sight-seeing!

Today was easy compared with yesterday, but we didnt cycle far, just did a quick 86miles today. Max speed just 34mph and average speed just 12.8mph. Arrived at 5:30 in plenty of time for a great tea in the garden in the Bristol sunshine. Nothing eventful today apart from Abi falling over whilst trying to stop dave riding pass them.

Well done to all of you! We are thinking of you and praying for you, a little bit envious (of the scenery and the adventure) and a lot grateful it's you doing it, not us! God bless you all! xxxx

Re: the picture of day 1.
Posing with the bikes nearly fooled me, but then I spotted your Tardis :-)

Good blog, thanks for the update!

Well done so far. I don't think I could have done this at the tender age of 38. Look forward to hearing your updates.
